The Expanding Your Horizons Network
Founded in 1974, The Expanding Your Horizons Network is an organization of educators, scientists, mathematicians, parents, community leaders, students, and government and corporate representatives whose mission is to promote the continuing development in mathematics and science of all people, with particular emphasis on the needs of women and girls. To achieve this, in 1976 the Network developed educational conference opportunities, Expanding Your Horizons in Science and Mathematics (EYH), for 6th to 12th grade young women. The Network continues to license and coordinate Expanding Your Horizons™ Conferences held across the country. Our mission is to encourage young women to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers. Through Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) Network programs, we provide STEM role models and hands-on activities for middle and high school girls. Our ultimate goal is to motivate girls to become innovative and creative thinkers ready to meet 21st Century challenges.
